When we lost Roger, we had no clue what to do. We thought about taking him to the pound or the animal shelter, but realized that he deserved something more. When I called Paws in Paradise, I had no clue what to expect. I had looked on their website a little, but didn’t know what was really going to happen to Roger. It is difficult to say how much I appreciate what y’all did for our family. Chocolate watched our three kids grow up and had been with us for almost 15 years. She was our first child and her impact on our lives will be forever in our hearts. Having never gone through this process, we weren’t sure of what to expect. We just were in no position to do anything, and John’s compassion was evident from her first words. While the entire situation was extremely difficult she instantly made us at ease, she walked us through everything. Everything from the first impression to the handshake goodbye was simply wonderful, which is the way we wanted to say goodbye to our special friend. More than a month ago, I had to put my beloved dog, PJ to sleep. I had him almost 20 years. It took me a few weeks to go back to the vet to pick up his ashes. When I did, I put the whole bag in my closet, without looking inside. I just wasn’t ready to handle dealing with it yet. (I’ve lost both parents to cancer in the last couple of years, and it has been overwhelming). But last week, I got out the bag, and that’s when I found the card you had made, with the little heart and a lock of his very messy gray fur. I loved how scruffy he was! And he hated to be groomed. Even if I just stroked his head, he would shake it, so he went right back to being a mess. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for including that beautiful card with his ashes. I am so touched. It is something I will treasure forever. Thank you so very much.
